Basically, it's an "innocent until proven guilty" policy.  All applications are posted to the Membership group.

• Good response/s = IN
  No explanation required here.

• No responses = IN
  Often this will be a newcomer, good or evil? We don't know but hopefully through sailing with us and talking to us, they will sail the way we do.

• Some mixed feelings = IN
  Maybe they've been out in the wild for a bit and are using "laws of the jungle" tactics but are open to learning the rules and sailing fairly.

• Uniformly negative responses = OUT
  We know the kind.....

If an admitted member continuously flouts the club rules (it's written into the charter that every member must agree to when they appy), then we can boot them.

Also guys (and gals), please remember that membership is not based on any kind of "attendance" or participation factor. Many people buy VSK and NEVER go online. People can become members and stay members without ever going in one of our club races. Whatever they get out of the club, be it mentoring, skins or just feeling part of a group, is OK. remember, if they feel part of the club then they will be more likely to give the online racing a go.
